The sooner you start planning for college the better! Start thinking about what you want to study or what subjects interest you the most and find schools that offer similar programs. Start building your resume and researching colleges online. Here are some ways to start planning this school year:

January-
February

- Work with your counselor to set your senior schedule. Enroll in the most challenging courses.

- Register for a spring SAT and/or ACT.

*This may or may not be possible due to Covid-19

- Start brainstorming what you want to study and start building a list of schools that interest you

- Learn as much as you can about colleges online.

March-May

- Start researching colleges. Go to (virtual) college fairs

-Go online to request additional information.

- Take a look at some college applications. Make note of all the pieces of information you will need to compile.

- Make a list of teachers, counselors, employers, and other adults who could write letters of recommendation.

June- August

- Continue​ investigating colleges.

- If possible, schedule campus visits at the schools that you interest you.

- Begin thinking about applications. Generally, colleges will have their applications online by early August.

-Start brainstorming your college essay.
